On September 7, 2025, the Church will experience a historic moment: Carlo Acutis and Pier Giorgio Frassati will be proclaimed saints. Two very different figures in terms of time and lifestyle, but united by a common message: sainthood is not a privilege for the few, but a concrete possibility for all, including today's young people.

But what does it mean to live holiness in a hyper-connected, fast-paced, and challenging world like today's?

A language close to young people

The life of Carlo Acutis reminds us that holiness isn't just about extraordinary gestures, but is built on daily life. This young man from Milan, passionate about IT, found the web as a way to talk about faith. His most famous quote—"The Eucharist is my highway to Heaven"—continues to resonate with thousands of young people, who see in him a peer capable of living spiritually without sacrificing modernity.
Pier Giorgio Frassati, on the other hand, was defined by John Paul II as "the man of the eight beatitudes." A mountaineer, student, and generous friend, he naturally dedicated himself to the poor and needy. His faith was not hidden, but translated into concrete action, in sports, study, and friendships.
Two different paths, one teaching: holiness is possible by living authentically and lovingly every day.

Holiness in everyday life

For many young people today, the word "holiness" may seem distant, abstract, almost unattainable. In reality, as Acutis and Frassati teach, being a saint doesn't mean accomplishing epic feats, but transforming everyday life into a gift.
It's choosing honesty at school and at work.
It means taking care of friends, family, and the most vulnerable.
It's having the courage to go against the grain when necessary.
It means cultivating faith without shame, even in a world that often questions it.
Holiness in today's youth is made up of small gestures: a message of encouragement, a day dedicated to volunteering, an hour of prayer, a sincere hug.

Young saints, for today's youth
Carlo and Pier Giorgio weren't "perfect": they had passions, limitations, dreams, and struggles, just like any boy or girl today. Precisely for this reason, they are credible and relatable role models.
In 2025, during the Jubilee of Youth, their example becomes even more relevant: two new faces, two stories that testify that one can live the faith without renouncing joy, creativity, and modernity.
At a time when young people are seeking authentic points of reference, their canonization is an invitation to look at holiness not as a distant ideal, but as a concrete path to happiness.

Holiness: an invitation for all

The canonization on September 7th is not just about those who will physically attend St. Peter's Square. It's a message that reaches everyone: boys and girls, families, communities, believers and non-believers.
Carlo and Pier Giorgio tell us that sainthood is a path open to anyone who has the courage to live with love, authenticity, and hope. It's not about becoming "religious heroes," but about embracing life deeply, without wasting time, without ceasing to believe in goodness.
